Here I will write a list of shops according to what they sell or offer, so you have a fast guide to check what you are looking for:y
  1. SUPERMARKETS: Lidl, Billa, Tesco. Lidl is the cheapest but is far from the centre, Billa can be found almost anywhere, but is more pricey and finally there are small Tesco Express in the centre, but the main Tesco is inside MyBratislava shopping centre (Kamenie namestie), and it has a huge selection of goods, so If you are looking for more variety you should go to the Tesco in MyBratislava.
  2. SHOPPING CENTRES: Eurovea, AuPark, Polus, MyBratislava, AvionPark... There are many shopping centres scattered around the city, the best in my opinion are Eurova and AuPark, they are easy to reach and are exactly the same as a western shopping centre, as well as very modern and nice, in there you can find almost anything you want.
  3. ELECTRONICS: You should look for Nay Electrodom, they have good prices (for example ear-adapt earphones for 3.4€) and have several shops in the city, there is a big one in AuPark and Polus. There are other smaller electronic shops in the city where you can buy wires or earphones.
  4. PRINT: You should check AnWell, they are always crowded by students and you can buy pens and other class tools. There are located around the city, for example, there is one in Obchodna street and another in Druzba dorm. Other more profesional option is FaxCopy, in AuPark and Mickiewiczova street, in there you can print business cards or posters.
  5. PHONE COMPANIES: There are several phone companies but what most of Erasmus have is O2, their shops are located in AuPark and Eurovea.
  6. HOME GOODS: There are two main options for decoration and small furniture, beign TescoHome in My Bratislava, and IKEA in AvionPark, which a much bigger catalogue and better prices.
  7. COMPUTER REPAIR: If your dorm technic can't repair your laptop, you should go to Shark in AuPark, they have a profesional team and if the problem is minor and have a fast solution, they won't charge you.
  8. PHARMACY: Is “Lekaren” in Slovak, there are many in Bratislava, check Google Maps for your closest one. A central one is Dr. Max in Obchodna. During weekends, the one who in my opinion stays open more time and is more accesible is the one inside MyBratislava, in Kamenie namestie. (If you want to buy preservatives be aware that some pharmacies are catholic, the ones with a christian cross, and won't sell you any kind of stuff like that, and probably they will give you a extrange look).
  9. HOSPITALS: “Nemocnica” in Slovak, there are many in the city, this part will also be useful for the medical students who need to do practice there. Kramare (Limbova 6, by bus 32 or 212), big old socialist hospital with main emergencies working on weekend. Mickiewiczova (in the same name street, by tram 4,9, and close to 5) is a XIX century looking hospital, where many medical practices are made since is in front of the CU Medicine Faculty. Ruzinov (by tram 9, stop with same name) is a late socialist building but is the best one in the city, so it's the most useful for emergencies or to go if you need a doctor, inside looks good enough for western standards. Antolska (By bus 93 and 99), is the most modern and better looking one, but is in the very south corner of the city, it will take you more than 40 minutes to reach it even if you take every bus on time.
  10. EMBASSIES: Most of them are located in the Old Town, check fast on Google where is your country one.
